Ingolstadt became the first top-flight debutants to win their opening three away games in the Bundesliga with a stoppage-time penalty from Moritz Hartmann earning them a 1-0 victory at Werder Bremen.

Hartmann converted after Assani Lukimya pushed Stefan Lex inside the penalty area in the second minute of time added on and Felix Wiedwald, who had saved his side on numerous occasions up to then, could not keep out his spot-kick.

The closest the hosts came to scoring was when Roger headed against his own crossbar while Claudio Pizarro twice went close to marking his third home debut for the club with a goal.

The game ended on an even worse note for Bremen, with Philipp Bargfrede shown a straight red card for a reckless lunge at Alfredo Morales when his frustration got the better of him.

With 10 points, Ingolstadt moved up to fifth in the standings while Bremen are three points adrift in ninth.
