Barnet vs Stevenage Borough preview - Jamie Stephens banned for Barnet against Stevenage

Barnet manager Martin Allen will be hoping his side can turn around their fortunes against Stevenage after seeing their winless run extended to six games in all competitions at Portsmouth last week.

Pompey eased to a 3-1 victory to leave Allen's side having suffered five defeats in six and things got even worse for them as goalkeeper Jamie Stephens was sent off

Stephens will now miss this weekend's game, while Graham Stack is also unavailable, with Allen eyeing bringing someone else in to pick up the gloves.

Allen will check on strikers Kevin Lisbie and Shaun Batt who have been absent, owing to groin and hamstring injuries, and a lack of fitness respectively.

Stevenage, who can extend their unbeaten run to five games with a positive result in north London, are boosted by renewals for two defenders.

Centre-back Dean Wells has committed his future to Boro for another two years and on-loan Tottenham left-back Connor Ogilvie will stay in Hertfordshire until January after prolonging his deal.

Boss Teddy Sheringham could hand a start to Northern Ireland Under-21 midfielder Dale Gorman, who featured for the reserves in a goalless draw with Norwich this week, as regular middle men Steven Schumacher (hamstring) and David McAllister (knee) remain sidelined.

Defender Ronnie Henry (mumps) remains doubtful for Stevenage, who won their last trip to Barnet 3-0 back in November 2010.
