Stade Rennais FC 1 - 1 Lille OSC: Lille hold on for share of spoils at Rennes

Posted Saturday, September 19, 2015 by PA

Lille survived a cruel second-half red card to claim a 1-1 draw against in-form Rennes in Ligue 1.

Vincent Enyeama was dismissed midway through the second half when Giovanni Sio went to ground inside the area, with the onrushing goalkeeper deemed to have brought him down.

Lille, who had taken the lead through Sofiane Boufal's near-post strike, were indebted to replacement keeper Mike Maignan after he stopped Paul Ntep's subsequent penalty with his first touch.

However, the French forward made up by bundling home Sio's header moments later to level the sides at one apiece.

Despite scoring just one goal all season, Lille threatened throughout with Yassine Benzia missing a host of chances.
