Carlisle vs Dagenham and Redbridge preview - Archibald-Henville edging closer to Carlisle comeback

Posted Friday, September 11, 2015 by PA

Carlisle defender Troy Archibald-Henville is close to a comeback as the Cumbrians prepare to host Dagenham on Saturday.

The centre-half is transfer-listed but still being considered for selection and has been undergoing artificial altitude training to aid his recovery from a hamstring injury suffered at the start of the month.

Midfielder Kevin Osei managed 13 minutes off the bench in last week's win over Barnet and will be pushing for a starting spot.

The country's nine-goal leading scorer Jabo Ibehre could once again be partnered by one of Derek Asamoah, who grabbed the winner against the Bees, while Alex McQueen and Gary Dicker impressed off the bench in that game.

Dagenham will have both Kane Ferdinand and Niko Hamalainen available at Brunton Park.

Manager Wayne Burnett saw his side win their first league game of the season at Northampton last weekend and since then has seen Ferdinand prolong his stay until December 5 after signing an initial one-month deal in August.

The former Peterborough man has featured in all-but one game for the Daggers this season while Hamalainen, who has extended his loan move from QPR, has not played in League Two as of yet.

Burnett is unlikely to make changes following the victory at Northampton - with striker Matt McClure looking to add to his recent run of three goals in two games.
