Chelsea striker Diego Costa admits he must improve

Chelsea striker Diego Costa has once again failed to impress whilst on national team duty and the Brazilian born Spanish international has moved to head off criticism by admitting he must improve.

Goal.com reports on comments made by the 26-year-old as he draw yet another blank during Spain’s 1-0 Euro 2016 win over Macedonia.

Diego Costa has scored just once in eight appearances for Spain and hasn’t been all that impressive whilst on Chelsea duty either.

"I’ve got a lot to improve and I’ve got to start scoring goals,"

"There will be no lack of effort on my part. I’ll keep working hard at my club to improve.

"I am always filled with ambition whenever I get called for the national team." Costa added.

Diego Costa impressed in his debut season at Chelsea, scoring 21 Premier League goals, but has looked lethargic and ineffective thus far this term with Jose Mourinho’s side already some way off the title pace.
