Jordan Preston scored his first goals of the season as Ayr breezed to a 5-2 home win over Stenhousemuir in Scottish League One.
Preston needed just three minutes to break his duck as he capitalised on a defensive error to slot home after just three minutes.
Stenny hauled themselves level 13 minutes later when Euan Murray headed home Alan Cook's cross from close range.
But that was as good as it got and Ayr ran riot, regaining their lead in the 26th minute when Craig Moore converted Nicky Devlin's pass and then adding a third 10 minutes before the break when Jamie Barclay put through his own net.
Preston's second 70 seconds after the restart put the game to bed as he fired home from a Moore assist and Ross Caldwell's late strike made the scoreline even more emphatic.
Liam McCroary headed in at the death for the visitors but it was a night to forget.
