Luton Town 0 - 1 Bristol Rovers : Sinclair strikes to haunt Hatters

Midfielder Stuart Sinclair scored a last-gasp winner against his former side Luton to steal a 1-0 victory for Bristol Rovers at Kenilworth Road.

With seconds left, the 27-year-old, who was released by Town earlier in his career, was left unmarked to race through and calmly beat Mark Tyler in stoppage time, securing Rovers' first victory since returning to the Football League.

The result was nothing less than the visitors deserved either as Luton produced a woeful performance, failing to test visiting goalkeeper Aaron Chapman with a single shot on target all evening.

Paddy McCourt fired wide for the Hatters early on but then Rovers had the better chances, Jermaine Easter's effort deflecting narrowly wide, while Tom Lockyer headed off target from a deep cross,

Home keeper Tyler made a superb point-blank stop with his legs to deny Lee Brown moments before half-time, while the second period did not get any better for Luton, as Ellis Harrison fired two efforts wide.

McCourt almost fashioned a chance after playing a one-two with Paul Benson, but his cross was too close to Chapman - and Sinclair proved to be the Pirates' match-winner with his contribution at the death.
