Barcelona lead chase for Gerson

Barcelona are reportedly leading the chase for Brazilian wonderkid Gerson after the player rejected an approach from Italian side AS Roma.
Football Espana are reporting that Gerson 'promised' the Blaugrana he'd reject all other offers, before being formally approached by the club, and is now said to be edging towards a move to the Camp Nou.
Roma's 15 million euro bid was recently accepted by Gerson's current employers, Fluminense, although the Italian side's advances were rejected by the player.
Barcelona were quick to lodge an offer of their own for Gerson, and the deal, thought to be worth around 12 million euros, should be confirmed later this week.
Despite being unable to register new player in January, Barca look poised to make the attacking midfielder their third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal.
All three players will train with the team until January when the ban is lifted and they can officially be registered by the club.
