Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is already on the lookout for a new 'injury prevention specialist' after first-team physio Matt Radcliffe left his position with the club just eight months after arriving at Old Trafford.
The Daily Mirror reports that it's unclear whether the former Southampton medic was sacked or left of his own accord, but what's certain is the fact that the veteran Dutch coach now needs to find a replacement for the important member of his back-room team in time for the start of the 2015/16 campaign.
Radcliffe has a reputation as one of the best young physios in the Premier League and was poached by the Red Devils from St Mary's in October 2014. But, for whatever reason things have not worked out for him at the Theatre of Dreams.
His arrival was supposed to bring an end to a worrying pile-up of injuries to several senior stars, with nine first-team regulars sidelined when Radcliffe was first appointed at the back end of last year.
However, despite his presence Radcliffe was unable to stem the constant flow of fitness problems as Manchester United continued to be blighted by issues right up until the season's climax, prompting Van Gaal to claim it as the worst situation he has experienced in 30 years as a manager.
