Alloa Athletic 2 - 2 Queen of South: Doonhamers held by Alloa

Queen of the South had to settle for a point against Alloa as it finished 2-2 at Recreation Park.

Victory for James Fowler's side would have seen them seal a play-off spot but they were denied by Liam Buchanan's equalising goal for the struggling hosts.

Chris Higgins and Gavin Reilly went close for the visitors but it was Alloa who took the lead after 40 minutes when Ben Gordon headed home Iain Flannigan's corner.

Two goals at the beginning of the second half turned the game on its head as Derek Lyle levelled from the penalty spot and Mark Millar put Queen of the South in front with a low, left-foot finish after 53 minutes.

Alexander Clark parried a shot from Kevin Cawley on the hour mark but the goalkeeper was beaten six minutes later by Buchanan's low shot.
