Peterhead 1 - 1 Dunfermline: Peterhead held by Pars

Posted Sunday, April 05, 2015 by PA

Peterhead and Dunfermline shared the points at Balmoor in a 1-1 draw that does neither side's play-off hopes any good.

Michael Moffat put the Pars ahead but substitute Andrew Rodgers scored the equalising goal late on to leave both teams seven points behind fourth-placed Brechin, after their 2-0 win at Morton.

Moffat directed a header in off the inside of a post after 18 minutes to give the visitors the lead. Kyle McAusland had a chance to extend the advantage but Graeme Smith held his shot.

At the other end, Ryan Scully kept Dunfermline in front with a fine save to deny Steven Noble early in the second half.

But there was little Scully could do 12 minutes from time when Noble got in behind the Pars defence and set up Rodgers to fire home from eight yards.

Andy Geggan could have won it in injury-time for the visitors but his near-post header flashed agonisingly wide.
