Greenock Morton 0 - 2 Brechin City: Morton lose ground with defeat

Morton lost ground in the race for the League One title with a 2-0 home defeat to Brechin.
Bobby Barr marked his return from suspension with a goal from the penalty spot and Jamie Masson was also on target but goalkeeper Graeme Smith was the real match-winner for City.
Smith made a series of fine saves to keep the game goalless. Declan McManus was the first to be denied early on when his close-range effort was blocked.
Peter MacDonald's shot was acrobatically tipped over the crossbar before McManus was thwarted again. Smith then extended himself to repel a looping header from Thomas O'Ware.
His efforts were rewarded after 79 minutes when Lee Kilday tripped Barr, who netted the subsequent penalty.
Masson made sure of all three points with a lovely free-kick, his shot finding the top left-hand corner of the net, with two minutes remaining.
