Liverpool desperate to land £24m star this summer

Liverpool are desperate to push through a summer deal for Villarreal's £24m-rated forward Luciano Vietto to beat Barcelona to him, according to reports from The Metro.
The Argentine has enjoyed a fantastic breakthrough season for the Yellow Submarine, notching 12 La Liga goals in 26 appearances.
Naturally, a host of big clubs are rumoured to be chasing the 21-year-old, including Barca.
The Catalan giants are very much on the back foot though, with a transfer embargo preventing them from registering new players before January 2016 - leaving them in limbo this summer.
Liverpool are, as a result, ready to accelerate their plans and land Vietto while Barcelona are not genuine competitors.
Villarreal are unlikely to be open to a deal for their star man and may demand around £24m for his signature.
Liverpool could well struggle to sway the starlet, who has admitted that he would love to play alongside compatriot Lionel Messi at Barca:
"Everybody dreams of being able to play alongside Messi," he told Ole.
"But, genuinely, the transfer speculation is something that I take in my stride. I'm just concentrating on Villarreal.
"I use all of these rumours as motivation to keep pushing myself to improve. I have no doubt that if I keep doing well everything will come in its own time."
