Real Sociedad vs Espanyol preview - Moyes calls for creativity

David Moyes wants Real Sociedad to be more creative and incisive in Sunday's Primera Division clash with Espanyol.

Real Sociedad have won two of their last three home matches and beat Sevilla 4-3 last time out at Anoeta Stadium.

Moyes told a media conference: "We have had a problem scoring goals. We've not been as fluent as I'd like, but we scored four against Sevilla which was very good.

"We're beginning to get a little bit more possession, but we're not making chances. We still have to work on all aspects.

"We're working at it and hopefully we see it. We're looking for more creativity, for more goals.

"And we have to make sure we're defensively very tight. If we win by a goal from a corner kick I'm happy."

Real Sociedad are clear of the scrap to avoid relegation for now, with their home form important.

Moyes wants to continue being strong in San Sebastian while improving on the road.

"We're having to rely on our home form. We have to try to address our form away from home," the former Everton and Manchester United boss added.

"Espanyol will come and play a little deeper and make it difficult for us to be creative.

"When I joined the club I always said avoiding relegation had to be number one priority. It's still number one priority.

"We haven't won enough games, but we haven't lost too many games either. We need to get more points to get away from relegation."

Espanyol were beaten in the Copa del Rey semi-final by Athletic Bilbao in midweek and Lucas Vazquez is determined to put the defeat behind them quickly.

"The most important thing is to forget the cup and continue working as we were doing," he said on rcdespanyol.com.

"(The loss left a) bad taste in the mouth that can last a couple of days.

"Now we must think about the league and fight with the intention of getting the three points."
