2022 World Cup set for Nov-Dec

A decision has been made for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar to take place in November and December, according to reports.

A report published by Sports Illustrated that cited multiple sources stated that a Fifa task force will make the recommendation at a meeting in Doha next week, with the decision to be rubber stamped at a Fifa executives meeting in March.

The decision comes despite the European Clubs Association and European Professional Football Leagues stating in December that a summer World Cup would be their preference.

It is believed that the Fifa task force indicates in their report that the European clubs are the only ones that will be heavily impacted by the switch from the traditional European summer World Cup.
