Hartlepool United FC vs Stevenage Borough preview - Moore monitor several

Hartelpool boss Ronnie Moore will monitor several unnamed players who have been unable to train properly this week before naming his squad to face Stevenage.

Moore revealed the injuries were "minor knocks" following the midweek win against Northampton, while defender Matthew Bates, who missed out due to a dead leg, has also been struggling with illness this week.

Striker Scott Fenwick did not feature on Tuesday night due to an ankle injury and remains a major doubt, so Marlon Harewood and recent signing Marvin Morgan could resume up front.

Long-term absentee Tommy Miller (calf) played for 45 minutes with the reserves this week but is not yet in contention.

Stevenage boss Graham Westley has suffered a huge injury blow ahead of the trip with the news that Darius Charles will miss the rest of the season.

The 27-year-old was taken off late on in their 0-0 draw with Bury on Tuesday night with a fractured fibula injury and he joins Boro's lengthy injury list.

David McAllister, Calvin Zola Jerome Okimo, Tom Pett, Adam Marriott, Connor Calcutt, Dean Parrett and Roarie Deacon all seem unlikely to return to action.

Centre-back Jon Ashton remains an injury doubt after hurting his ankle on his return to first-team football having been sidelined since November.
