Charlton vs Norwich preview - Velkovic blow for Charlton

Posted Monday, February 09, 2015 by PA

Charlton will be without Milos Veljkovic when they host Norwich.

The on-loan Tottenham midfielder suffered a shoulder injury during Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Middlesbrough and could be set for an extended spell on the sidelines.

Callum Harriott and Rhoys Wiggins are doubts having missed the trip to the Riverside after picking up knocks in training on Friday while skipper Johnnie Jackson is battling to overcome a calf injury.

New defender Roger Johnson is available although he was not considered fit enough to be in the squad at Boro, and winger Franck Moussa is set to miss out again due to a knee problem.

Sebastien Bassong could feature for Norwich despite being forced off in the first half of the 4-0 home win over Blackpool on Saturday.

The defender's first Carrow Road appearance of the season lasted just 21 minutes after suffering a back injury and being replaced by Michael Turner.

But boss Alex Neil confirmed Bassong has shown "significant improvements" and is expected to travel but Gary O'Neil (toe), Elliott Bennett and Ryan Bennett (both hamstring) are again absent.

Gary Hooper should retain his place after bagging a hat-trick against the Seasiders with deadline-day signing Tony Andreu likely to be on the bench once more after a second-half cameo at the weekend.
