Hibernian FC 5 : 0 Cowdenbeath - Hibs romp to Cowdenbeath win

Posted Sunday, January 18, 2015 by PA

Hibernian extended their unbeaten run to six matches with a thumping 5-0 win against Cowdenbeath.

The home side opened the scoring early when Scott Allan's corner was headed back across goal and Paul Hanlon fired the ball into the top corner.

Jason Cummings had already gone close to a second when he scored his seventh goal in his last five matches with an easy finish from six yards.

It took Alan Stubbs' men until the 74th minute to add a third when Scott Robertson waltzed past Thomas O'Brien and coolly beat the goalkeeper.

They were not done there and made it four when substitute Sam Stanton played a one-two with Lewis Stevenson before cutting the ball back for Callum Booth to slam home.

Stevenson capped a fine Hibs display at the death as he drilled into the bottom corner from 20 yards.
