Falkirk 1 - 1 Queen of South: Loy fluffs his lines

Posted Sunday, January 18, 2015 by PA

Falkirk missed the chance to leapfrog their opponents as Rory Loy missed his second penalty of the game in a 1-1 draw with 10-man Queen of the South.

The Bairns striker had already converted one spot-kick from 12 yards when he lashed his second effort against the crossbar after the hour.

The hosts took the lead early on as they were awarded a penalty after Mark Durnan had fouled Loy in the area, the striker himself calmly converting the penalty in to the bottom left-hand corner.

The visitors equalised early in the second period after Ian McShane's corner fell kindly to Iain Russell in the penalty area and the midfielder made no mistake.

However, only nine minutes later, Durnan was dismissed for a handball inside the area.

Yet Loy failed to score this time as his attempt struck the woodwork.
