Watford will check on the fitness of goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes ahead of the visit of Charlton.
Gomes had to be substituted during the second half of last weekend's 3-1 defeat at Huddersfield, but he resumed training on Thursday and could be available.
Striker Fernando Forestieri is a doubt with a hamstring injury and defenders Joel Ekstrand (back) and Gabriel Tamas (cruciate) are still missing.
The Hornets have been in talks over a move for Bolton midfielder Jay Spearing ahead of the clash.
Guy Luzon takes charge of Charlton for the first time having replaced the axed Bob Peeters following last weekend's home defeat by Brighton.
Luzon has Yoni Buyens, who played for him at Standard Liege, and Callum Harriot available after they were ruled out against the Seagulls through suspension.
Skipper Johnnie Jackson and striker George Tucudean went off with injuries last weekend and will be assessed while winger Franck Moussa is out with a knee problem.
Neil Etheridge is set to continue in goal with Stephen Henderson still missing with a shoulder injury.
