LOUIS VAN GAAL believes that Premier League fans are being short-changed.

The Manchester United boss hit out over the scheduling of the festive fixtures after his skipper Wayne Rooney also blasted the number of games clubs are expected to play over Christmas.

United drew with Tottenham on Sunday just two days after a Boxing Day win over Newcastle and travel to Stoke tomorrow.

Van Gaal reckons their performance dropped in the second half against Spurs and fans are forced to put up with a number of below par games.

The Dutchman named the FA but the Premier League are the organisation responsible.

Van Gaal said: "It's the culture of England.

"I don't mind but it is not good for the players, for the health of the players and it is not good for the game because I think that the FA, but also the fans, they want attractive games.

HECTIC: Van Gaal has hit out at the Christmas schedule again

"You have seen the second half [against Tottenham]. You have seen the second half of Chelsea against Southampton."

Van Gaal heads into 2015 having got used to life in England since arriving in the summer thanks to some tasty food from a local Chinese restaurant.

The United boss is now hoping their away form in the New Year is more sweet than sour after just two wins out of nine on the road in the Premier League so far.

He said: "When I'm saying that every week we are improving, we have to show that against Stoke City, and also in an away match because we have won everything except Swansea City at home, the first match.

"We have to dominate also in away matches, and I hear from Ryan [Giggs] that Stoke City is a very difficult pitch.

"We have to show that in spite of that it's very difficult in Stoke. Maybe we can show that."

Goalkeeper David De Gea will be looking for his eighth clean sheet of the season against Stoke and the Spaniard reckons his transformation at Old Trafford has made him look like Captain America.

The former Atletico Madrid man looked out of his depth when he arrived back in 2011 but has grown into one of the world's best shot-stoppers by beefing up like the superhero.

He said: "I was like Captain America in one year!

"I did a lot of gym work at the start and it did have a big impact."

Van Gaal confirmed midfielders Ander Herrera and Adnan Januzaj are back in training.
