STRIKER AGREES ONE-AND-A-HALF-YEAR LOAN DEAL
Spanish striker Fernando Torres is set to wear the red and white stripes of his boyhood club, Atlético de Madrid, until at least 2016, when his current contract with Chelsea expires. The 'Rojiblancos' have reached an agreement with both Milan and the London club to take 'El Niño' home on a loan deal.
Fernando Torres has become an Atlético player again much sooner than anticipated in the wake of very productive negotiations held on Christmas Eve.
The striker has sacrificed a considerable chunk of his wages in order to return to his hometown club.
Torres did not want to stay at AC Milan and AC Milan did not want Torres to stay. Alessio Cerci is expected to make way with a loan deal at AC Milan until 2016 in the offing.
The plan is for the former Liverpool star to begin training with his new teammates as soon as possible, which could very well be on Monday.
