REAL MADRID have hit out at Chelsea and Jose Mourinho following a string of comments made by the Blues boss in recent times.

According to Marca, Mourinho has been aiming digs at his former club following a strong season with Chelsea, most recently saying: "I'm happy as a guy because I love my players. That's something I missed for a while."

And the Spanish outlet continues to claim that Carlo Ancelotti's side have not taken Mourinho's comments light-heartedly, with one unnamed player saying on behalf of his team-mates: "Hopefully we'll face him in the Champions League. If we reach the final, here's hoping it's against Chelsea. Then we'll do our talking.

"He should leave us alone. It's water under the bridge and we're just doing our thing."

The two teams are both top of the pile in their respective leagues, and many football fans will be hoping that a highly-anticipated clash comes about during this season's elite European competition.
