Japan manager Javier Aguirre has denied claims he was involved in match-fixing when he was the manager of Real Zaragoza.
The Mexican has called for the attention to shift to Japan's campaign to defend their AFC Asian Cup crown at the tournament in Australia next month.
Aguirre was one of 41 people named by Spanish prosecutors in connection with a probe into a match between Real Zaragoza and Levante in 2011. Zarafiza won 2-1, and the result ensured the club was not relegated.
Aguirre said: "I worked in Spain for 12 years and I have never done anything unethical or unprofessional.
"I would like to tell our supporters to stay calm during this investigation. We need their support to take the Asian Cup title.
"I will be concentrating and preparing for the Japan team to win the Asian Cup."
He concluded: "I will be cooperating with the Spanish authorities and seeing this case through to the end."
According to Spanish prosecutors, Levante players were paid 965,000 euros to lose the match and ensure Real Zaragoza stayed in the top flight
