Colchester United vs Gillingham preview - As you were for Us

Colchester boss Tony Humes could name an unchanged side against Gillingham after watching the U's return to winning ways on Saturday.

Humes' men ended a six-match winless run in the league when they overcame Yeovil, and the manager could stick with a winning team.

Full-back Ben Gordon made his first league start since October 4 against the Glovers and he is likely to keep his place in the side after putting in an impressive display.

The U's remain without long-term absentees Magnus Okuonghae (Achilles) and winger Drey Wright (knee).

Gillingham manager Peter Taylor has plenty of options ahead of the Boxing Day trip.

Forward Cody McDonald stepped off the bench to score in the second half of Saturday's 3-2 defeat to Chesterfield and he will be vying for a starting berth.

Fellow striker Danny Kedwell was a second-half substitute against the Spireites after missing the trip to Doncaster the week before, and he is in contention to be involved.

Callum Davies (ankle) is a long-term absentee but Aaron Morris is stepping up his recovery from a hamstring injury and could play some part.
