Brighton & Hove Albion vs Reading preview - Bruno missing for Brighton

Posted Wednesday, December 24, 2014 by PA

Brighton caretaker boss Nathan Jones will be without Bruno when they host Reading.

Spanish full-back Bruno starts a three-match ban following his red card during the 1-1 draw at Wolves on Saturday, a result which prompted manager Sami Hyypia's resignation.

Skipper Gordon Greer is battling to be fit following a knee injury and striker Sam Baldock is also close to returning after a thigh problem.

Jones has also recalled forward Craig Mackail-Smith from his loan spell at Peterborough, but winger Kazenga LuaLua is out with a knee problem while midfielders Dale Stephens (ankle) and Andrew Crofts (cruciate) are long-term absentees.

Danny Guthrie is poised to return to the Reading squad after finally overcoming the calf injury which has hindered him for most of the season.

Fellow midfielder Jem Karacan is also back in training following a long-term knee injury but the Royals' club captain will not be risked just yet.

New boss Steve Clarke lost his first game in charge as Watford ran out narrow 1-0 winners on Saturday, and he remains without a host of injured players.

Hal Robson-Kanu, Jamie Mackie (both hamstring), Pavel Pogrebnyak, Anton Ferdinand (both calf) and Hope Akpan (shoulder) are all on the sick list.
