Brentford vs Ipswich preview - Bees wait on Douglas

Brentford will check on Jonathan Douglas ahead of the home clash with fellow high-flyers Ipswich.

Midfielder Douglas had to go off at half-time during Saturday's 3-2 win at Cardiff due to a calf problem and was replaced by Jon Toral.

If Douglas is passed fit manager Mark Warburton is likely to stick with the side which secured the Bees' seventh victory in eight matches.

Right-back Alan McCormack remains sidelined by an ankle injury and striker Scott Hogan is a long-term absentee as he recovers from cruciate ligament damage.

Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy will continue to monitor defender Tyrone Mings ahead of the trip.

The 21-year-old missed Saturday's 2-0 victory over fellow promotion-chasers Middlesbrough through injury, but he could return to contention on Boxing Day.

McCarthy is unlikely to make wholesale changes to the side that overcame Boro, as he looks to extend his side's nine-match unbeaten run in the Sky Bet Championship.

Midfielder Cole Skuse was taken off seven minutes into the second half of the victory at the weekend, and he will be checked before the game.
