Port Vale 0 - 2 Coventry - Rare away success for Sky Blues

Left-back Reda Johnson headed his fifth goal of the season as Coventry earned only their second away triumph of the season with a 2-0 victory at Port Vale.
Both sides threatened during a very open start to proceedings with Frederic Veseli going close for Vale and Adam Barton likewise for the visitors.
But 32 minutes passed before the first serious save of the contest when Ryan Allsop got down well to beat out a header from Vale defender Chris Robertson.
Coventry attempted to up the ante at the start of the second period as Gary Madine's shot skiddied wide of Chris Neal's right-hand post.
But Vale were enjoying a period of pressure, with Mark Marshall wasting a good chance, before the visitors took the lead against the run of play in the 57th minute.
Matthew Pennington looped in a long cross from the right flank and Johnson rose highest at the far post to power a downward header inside Neal's left-hand post.
Vale huffed and puffed in search of an equaliser, but got caught in the fifth minute of stoppage time when Madine slid in a low right-foot shot from 10 yards after Neal had parried Jim O'Brien's effort.
