Luke Shaw could be out for Man Utd until 2015 with ankle injury

Manchester United could be without Luke Shaw until 2015 due to his ankle injury.

The 19-year-old twisted his ankle in a painful looking tackle against Arsenal last weekend and had to leave the Emirates on crutches whilst wearing a protective boot.

Initial reports said Shaw could be out for a few weeks with ankle ligament damage but now The Telegraph are suggesting he has suffered a setback and will in fact not be ready until the start of next year.

With 40 separate injury incidents this year, Shaw being ruled out for a longer period would be typical of United's season so far and a cruel blow to Shaw himself because he was starting to settle down well at his new club.

At this stage there is no official confirmation of Shaw's injury but Louis van Gaal is expected to reveal more details on it at his pre-match press conference tomorrow.
