Cowdenbeath 1 : 0 Livingston - Gallagher strike sinks Livi

Posted Sunday, November 23, 2014 by PA

Calum Gallagher scored the only goal of the game as Cowdenbeath secured a vital three points against fellow strugglers Livingston.

Chances were at a premium in a poor first half with neither side able to create many clear-cut scoring opportunities.

Gallagher offered the Blue Brazil's best effort midway through the half, stinging the palms of Darren Jamieson who gathered the ball at the second attempt.

But he did find a way past him in the 54th minute when he was well-placed to turn in Sean Higgins' dangerous cross.

The visitors failed to make an impact throughout and could have been further behind had Jamieson not done well to deny Jon Robertson and Higgins in quick succession.

Jason Talbot came closest to an equaliser in the final moments but could not beat Robbie Thomson with a weak effort.
