Alloa Athletic 2 : 3 Falkirk - Bairns end Alloa run

Posted Sunday, November 23, 2014 by PA

Alloa's five-match unbeaten run was finally ended as they were edged out 3-2 by Falkirk at the Indodrill Stadium.

The visitors got off to a flying start when Alex Cooper dispatched a fine free-kick after just 10 minutes.

Mark Docherty levelled things up on the half-hour mark, finding the top corner with a neat strike just inside the penalty area.

But Rory Loy restored the Bairns' lead moments before the break when he finished from close range following some good work by Cooper.

They doubled their advantage 10 minutes after the restart, Loy this time the creator as he supplied Blair Alston to slot home.

But they had to endure a nervy finish after Liam Buchanan pulled a goal back from the penalty spot having been fouled by Peter Grant.
