Cheltenham Town vs Wycombe Wanderers preview - Ferdinand set for Robins bow

Cheltenham are set to hand new signing Kane Ferdinand a debut when they host Wycombe.

The Peterborough midfielder arrived on loan on Thursday and has been given the green light to make his Robins bow as they look to bounce back from their thumping by Stevenage last weekend.

Jack Deaman, Harry Williams and Zack Kotwica staked their claims in a midweek reserve defeat to Bristol City and they will hope to profit if Mark Yates decides to ring the changes.

Captain Matt Taylor remains sidelined for the Robins, who are also without Asa Hall.

Wycombe will assess the damage of Monday night's televised defeat to Burton ahead of the trip.

Sam Wood, Max Kretzschmar, Peter Murphy and Alfie Mawson all picked up injuries in that 3-1 loss, with the latter the biggest doubt having suffered suspected concussion, a diagnosis which saw the Brentford loanee rushed to hospital on Monday evening.

Murphy picked up a knock, Wood tweaked his groin and Kretzschmar turned his ankle and boss Gareth Ainsworth will check on the trio.

But he will be boosted by the return of centre-back Aaron Pierre and midfielder Josh Scowen after suspension and the pair could step straight back into the starting line-up.
