Northampton Town vs Stevenage Borough preview - Cresswell sidelined for Cobblers.

Posted Friday, November 21, 2014 by PA

Ryan Cresswell is out as Northampton welcome Stevenage to Sixfields.

The defender will have a scan on his knee after suffering an injury in the FA Cup defeat to Rochdale on Tuesday.

Lewis Hornby and Evan Horwood remain out as they lack fitness following their lay-offs with tendinitis.

Zander Diamond (ankle) and Ian Morris (knee) should be fit early in the new year.

Stevenage have a striker crisis with Lee Barnard possibly their only fit forward for the trip to Sixfields.

Chris Beardsley missed Thursday's 2-1 FA Cup defeat by Maidstone with a leg injury while Adam Marriott is also struggling after only just returning from a hamstring problem.

Calvin Zola (ankle) is out and boss Graham Westley admits he is going to have to rally his troops following the cup exit.

He told Boro Player: "It's going to be a tough turnaround. There was a lot of energy expended on Thursday and we are going to have to dig into the squad."
