Lewis Macleod has been released by Scotland to play in Rangers' Championship match with Alloa at Ibrox.

The 20-year-old midfielder received his first call-up by Gordon Strachan for Friday's Euro 2016 qualifier against Ireland and Tuesday's friendly against England, but is now be available for his club.

McCoist is hopeful Lee Wallace recovers from a niggle, Marius Zaliukas is not ready but is back in training after a knee complaint, while Cammy Bell (shoulder) and Fraser Aird (thigh) remain on the sidelines.

Alloa have ruled out three players for their first league trip to Ibrox in over 92 years with Iain Flannigan (back), Greig Spence (hamstring) and David Weatherston (hamstring) all missing.

Graeme Holmes is also a major doubt with manager Barry Smith saying: "We are going into this game after a good win in the league and a good win in the Scottish Cup.

"No-one expects us to do anything but we have standards that we want to hit. We made it difficult for Rangers at our place and got a draw. We will look to make it difficult for them at Ibrox as well."
