Wrexham 3 : 0 Woking - Bishop batters Woking

Andy Bishop scored once and set up the other two as Wrexham beat fellow Conference side Woking 3-0 in the first round of the FA Cup at the Racecourse Ground.

The 32-year-old striker found the net two minutes before the break to round off an impressive first half which also saw him win the 19th minute penalty scored by Andy Ashton and supply the cross for Wesley York to score Wrexham's second.

Woking, five places above their opponents in the league, had enjoyed the better of the early chances but Theo Lewis and Josh Payne both failed to test Wrexham goalkeeper Andy Coughlin.

But when Bishop was fouled by Mike Cestor, referee Simon Bennett pointed to the spot with Ashton eventually scoring on the rebound after Jake Cole initially saved.

York tapped home Bishop's cross to double his side's lead on 36 minutes before the winger returned the favour for his team-mate to sweep home.

Woking attempted to exert some pressure after the break with Joe McNerney heading over just before the hour mark.

But it was the hosts who finished the stronger, with Elliott Durrell shooting just wide as Wrexham gained revenge for their 2-1 defeat earlier in the season.
