Alloa Athletic vs Livingston preview - Alloa without Benedictus

Posted Friday, November 07, 2014 by PA

Alloa will look to defeat visitors Livingston and climb above them in the Championship table without defender Kyle Benedictus who is suspended.

Also missing are the injured Iain Flannigan (back) and Greig Spence (hamstring) with Ryan McCord struggling to make it with a back injury.

Manager Barry Smith said: "We lost 4-0 in our last game with Livingston and it was a disappointing afternoon. This game gives us the chance to make up for that.

"We showed a lot of determination to get a draw in a very tricky Scottish cup tie at Ayr last weekend and hopefully that same level of determination will get us a win this weekend."

Livi are without Brad Donaldson, who has an ankle injury, while Rob Ogleby has been suffering from a groin problem as they look to bounce back from their Scottish Cup exit at the hands of Annan last weekend.

Manager John McGlynn said: "We started off playing really well but lost bad goals and missed good chances after they hit us with an equaliser. We have felt the pain of that defeat all week."

"In our last game with Alloa we secured a good victory and it would be great to do so again. There is very little between teams in this league and it would be great to win and start climbing away from the bottom."
