Warrington Town AFC vs Exeter City preview - Warrington ready for Exeter tussle

Warrington have a clean bill of health as they prepare to host Sky Bet League Two Exeter in the FA Cup first round on Friday night.

The Northern Premier League side have never made the first round proper of the famous cup competition in their 65-year history.

Top scorer Scott Metcalfe will start in midfield along with Conor Roberts and David Mannix.

Boss Shaun Reid, brother of former Everton midfielder Peter Reid, could also recall Chris Gaghan and Ashley Ruane, who both came off the bench during last weekend's 3-1 defeat to Droylsden.

Exeter have no fresh injury worries as they look to avoid an FA Cup banana skin.

The Grecians have reached the second round just once under Paul Tisdale and have not made the third since holding Manchester United to a goalless draw at Old Trafford in 2005.

Striker Tom Nichols is pushing for a start having scored in each of his last two games as a substitute before netting twice in a development-squad victory over Bristol Rovers on Monday.

The Grecians were humiliated at Curzon Ashton, a side at the same level as Warrington, in the first round back in 2008.
