SORRY: Jose Mourinho has apologised to the Chelsea fans [GETTY]
The Blues boss hit out at the poor atmosphere at Stamford Bridge after Saturday's derby win against QPR.
But last night he said: "Maybe I went a little bit too far with the fans. But I see myself in the stands, watching Chelsea and I want to play, I want to help.
"I love my job. I am lucky to do it at the club I like so much and feel such a connection with, and maybe that makes me lead the club with a different emotion.
"If I'm not a player I cannot play, if I'm not a coach I cannot make decisions, if I'm just a fan what can I do to help?"
Mourinho also added that he was missing his daughter Matilde's 18th birthday to lead his side against Maribor.
"I try to enjoy life but yesterday was my daughters' 18th birthday - which is a once in a lifetime experience and I am here, not with my family," he said.
