Reading vs Rotherham United preview - Hector back for Royals

Reading can welcome back Michael Hector from suspension when they host Rotherham.

Defender Hector missed Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Blackburn due to a one-match ban after collecting five yellow cards this season.

The Royals' injury list is also clearing up with centre-half Anton Ferdinand (hamstring) and midfielder Danny Williams (knee) named on the bench at the weekend for the first time this season.

Winger Garath McCleary is the next long-term absentee in line to return, but he is waiting for the all-clear after a scan on his back, while Danny Guthrie (calf), Jem Karacan, Shaun Cummings and Craig Tanner (all knee) remain on the sidelines.

Rotherham look set to be without strike duo Alex Revell and Jordan Bowery.

Revell was forced off during Saturday's 3-0 home defeat to Middlesbrough after receiving a kick to the head from Daniel Ayala that went unpunished and he is struggling to be fit while his replacement Bowery was sent off just four minutes later.

Referee Mick Russell deemed him to have kicked out at George Friend, though it was a decision boss Steve Evans called "absolutely shocking, awful, woeful, disgraceful, abject" and the Millers will wait on news of an appeal before knowing whether Bowery will be available or must start a three-match ban.

Defender Joe Skarz returns from his one-match ban and will slot straight back in at left-back at the expense of Kirk Broadfoot while Richard Brindley (hamstring) and Luciano Becchio (heel) are injured.
