Brechin vs Stranraer preview - City short on numbers

Brechin have injury problems for the visit of Stranraer.

Colin Hamilton (hamstring ), Kyle McAusland (shin), Alan Trouten (groin), Callum Tapping (knee) and Craig Molloy (knee) are all missing.

Manager Ray McKinnon said: "We only have a small squad of players but the players that come in have the chance to take control of a starting jersey for longer. We will go out and make a game of it I am sure of that.

"We lost 4-0 to Airdrie last weekend on a disappointing day, however we will look to move on from it with a win over Stranraer. It will be tough but every game in this league is tough."

Stranraer include winger Willie Gibson in their squad after he shook off a calf knock that saw him substituted in their Petrofac Training Cup semi-final defeat to Livingston last weekend.

Also missing for the Blues are Craig Pettigrew and Scott Robertson, who both are suffering from knee injuries.

Stair Park manager Stephen Aitken said: "We showed against Livingston the high standards that we can play at.

"We need to match those standards again to defeat Brechin especially as they will be looking to bounce back after losing last Saturday.

"The players were tired earlier in the week after the extra time so starting this game well is key."
