Plymouth Argyle vs Shrewsbury Town preview - Reid set for Argyle return

Plymouth's top scorer Reuben Reid will make a welcome return to action when Shrewsbury arrive at Home Park.

The striker's hip problem ruled him out of the defeat at Accrington last weekend but having taken part in training he looks set to return to the starting line-up along with Peter Hartley who sat out that loss with a thigh injury.

Nathan Thomas made his first start of the season in that match and looks set to keep his place along with Bristol City loanee Bobby Reid who made a positive Pilgrims debut.

Winger Jason Banton looks to be another two weeks away from a return to action having suffered a groin injury.

Aaron Wildig, Andy Robinson, and James Caton could all come into contention for Shrewsbury.

The trio played in the 3-0 development squad defeat to Port Vale on Tuesday.

Dave McAllister also featured but the midfielder will not be considered as he continues to regain fitness following a long-term ankle injury.

"We'll go down there with respect for Plymouth, we know what a tough place it's going to be," boss Micky Mellon Mellon told the official site.
