Watford vs Brentford preview - Bees bow for McKinlay

Billy McKinlay takes charge of Watford when they host Brentford after replacing Oscar Garcia as head coach on Monday.

The Scot has Almen Abdi available after the midfielder missed Saturday's 2-2 draw at Blackburn with a dead leg suffered in training.

However Gabriel Tamas (knee), Troy Deeney (hamstring), Keith Andrews (calf) and Gabriele Angella (ankle) are all unavailable.

McKinlay has taken over as permanent Hornets boss after Garcia stepped down following his recent health scare.

Brentford could be unchanged after they got back to winning ways at the weekend.

The Bees bounced back from successive heavy defeats by Norwich and Middlesbrough to register an impressive 2-0 victory over Leeds on Saturday.

Goalkeeper Richard Lee remains sidelined by a shoulder injury and right-back Nico Yennaris is not yet ready to return after a thigh problem.

Winger Sam Saunders is making good progress after knee trouble but is not ready to be risked just yet and striker Scott Hogan is a long-term absentee with a cruciate injury.
