Wigan vs Nottingham Forest preview - McManaman may return for Latics

Wigan hope to have Callum McManaman back for Tuesday's Championship clash with Nottingham Forest after he was forced to sit out Saturday's disappointing loss at Bournemouth.

The striker picked up a knock in the previous defeat against Ipswich and Latics boss Uwe Rosler told Wigan Today: "Callum didn't train at all last week and was still having problems.

"For Callum to be able to play as he has been for the whole season, it's important he is free in his head with no worries over his body. He will be okay for Forest."

Rosler may make a few changes following the weekend setback, though, as he added: "I'm not happy, I'm disappointed. I'll take responsibility, but obviously now we also have to give some players who have not played for a while some chances."

Matty Fryatt will come back into the reckoning for Forest.

Fryatt has missed the last five matches with a groin injury but the striker has been training recently and will return to the squad at the DW Stadium. Andy Reid is also training again after his groin problem but he is not yet ready to make a comeback.

Fellow midfielder David Vaughan is a fresh concern for the Reds following a freak injury during the warm-up against Brighton at the weekend.

"He got struck during the warm-up," said Forest boss Stuart Pearce. "He was not expecting it and the ball hit him on his heel and jarred his hamstring. He had a slight hamstring strain as a result, which he was trying to stretch off. But we thought it would be prudent to pull him off."
