Manchester United are desperate to bring Ronaldo, who has fallen out with the Spanish club's hierarchy, back to Old Trafford while Premier League rivals Chelsea are also on the trail despite Jose Mourinho's denials.

Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring the Portuguese superstar's situation but he is focused on his future in Madrid.

He said: “It’s nothing important, what’s important is Madrid. On a personal level, things are going well and I want to help this shirt. I don’t see a need to talk about things outside the club.

“It’s all speculation, speaking about my future… My future is Madrid. I’m happy. The season is going well and I’m not talking about my future, it doesn’t make sense.”

Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal recently spoke of his desire to bring Ronaldo back to the club but recognised it would be a difficult transfer to pull off.

The Dutchman said: "It's always a discussion in the papers and I don't think the media shall buy Ronaldo.

"When it is possible, what I said with [Radamel] Falcao, players like Ronaldo give a lot extra to selection or to a team.

"But I don't think Real Madrid shall sell him."
