Notts County vs Leyton Orient preview - Thompson set for Magpies return

Notts County could have Garry Thompson back in contention against Leyton Orient.

Thompson resumed training last week after a knee injury and the experienced midfielder could be involved on Tuesday night, should Magpies manager Shaun Derry choose to make changes to the squad that performed so well at Peterborough at the weekend.

Derry lost defenders Hayden Mullins and Mike Edwards to injury in the build-up to the Posh trip and neither is likely to feature against the O's.

Blair Adams (thigh) remains out while Kyle Dixon, who suffered an ankle injury in pre-season, has returned to training but is again likely to miss out as he continues his recovery to full fitness.

Romain Vincelot returns from suspension for Orient in what could be manager Russell Slade's final game in charge.

Midfielder Vincelot missed Saturday's 2-0 defeat by Colchester, after which Slade was told by club president Francesco Becchetti that he has one game to save his job following their slow start to the season.

Slade is still without full-back Gary Sawyer (tendonitis), midfielder Lloyd James (thigh) and striker Kevin Lisbie (shoulder) through injury.

But winger Dean Cox was a surprise inclusion on the bench against Colchester following a rapid recovery from a knee injury and he should be involved again.
