Preston vs Chesterfield preview - Preston duo out of Spireites clash

Preston have injury and suspension concerns for their clash against Chesterfield, with Andy Little and Jordan Hugill definitely out.

Wide-man Little pulled up with a muscle problem 20 minutes into Saturday's game at Walsall while striker Hugill starts a three-game suspension following his dismissal in the 3-1 defeat.

Boss Simon Grayson revealed that there were a number of players nursing knocks and although he did not disclose specific players, striker Kevin Davies said on Twitter that he was undergoing treatment on some bruised ribs.

North End are aiming to continue an unbeaten Sky Bet League One run at Deepdale which stretches back to December.

Chesterfield will be without Gary Roberts.

Roberts came off midway through the first half of Saturday's 4-1 home win over Scunthorpe and the winger is expected to be out for up to a fortnight with a continuation of his recent hamstring problem.

Following an impressive performance after replacing Roberts at the weekend, Daniel Johnson is a strong contender to start at Deepdale. However, depending on how Spireites boss Paul Cook lines up, Armand Gnanduillet, Jay O'Shea, Ollie Banks and Gboly Ariyibi are also options to come into the team.

Jack Broadhead is available again after suspension but, with competition for places so fierce, the youngster will struggle to make the squad. Fellow centre-half Sam Hird (knee) remains out.
