Wigan vs Birmingham preview - McArthur may miss out for Wigan

James McArthur's uncertain future may cause him to miss Wigan's Sky Bet Championship fixture with Birmingham.

The central midfielder is reportedly on the verge of a move to Barclays Premier League side Leicester and may therefore have already played his last game for Latics.

Uwe Rosler is close to signing another midfielder in Adam Forshaw from Brentford but, even if that move is rubber-stamped in time, he may not play following ankle surgery this summer.

Winger Shaun Maloney could return after a bout of illness but Ben Watson (broken leg), James McClean (ankle) and Chris McCann (knee) are all still sidelined.

Neal Eardley is a doubt for Birmingham after limping out of Wednesday's Capital One Cup exit to Sunderland.

The defender suffered a groin injury during the first half of the 3-0 defeat at St Andrew's.

Boss Lee Clark will recall Darren Randolph after resting the goalkeeper for the Black Cats defeat while Stephen Gleeson could make his first league start since the opening day after impressing.

Matt Green (knee) is still recovering while Gavin Gunning is a long-term absentee after a knee operation last week.
