Granada CF vs Deportivo La Coruna preview - Toche wants to see new faces

Deportivo La Coruna striker Toche has admitted his squad needs new additions but insists everyone is focused on winning their first game back in the Primera Division.

The Galicians have experienced a turbulent summer since gaining automatic promotion, with coach Fernando Vazquez being unexpectedly relieved of his duties in July.

Seven players have left the club while six new faces have come in, along with new coach Victor Fernandez.

The club are still hoping to bring in several more players before the transfer window shuts - Fulham striker Konstantinos Mitroglou has been mentioned - but Toche believes his team-mates must focus solely on Granada.

He told reporters: "Whether more players come or not, on Saturday we have to play at Granada.

"Whoever comes here will have to prove they are good enough to play. I'm just focusing on training and playing.

"We know that the team is lacking in some areas, and I don't know how many more players will arrive, but the league is about to start and the players that are already here have to give our all."

The 31-year-old did, however, acknowledge that the club have made some important signings.

Chief among them is Argentinian midfielder Luis Farina, who has joined on loan from Benfica.

"Many quality players have signed in several positions but the only player who is going to help me play better and give me passes is Farina," added Toche.

"There's no one else like him in the team and strikers benefit from having players like him around."

Toche is looking forward to kicking off the new campaign, having scored three goals during the summer.

"You spend all pre-season thinking about the first game," he said.

"Granada are a physical, intense and strong side and we'll have to give our all from the first minute."

Granada also head into the new season with a new coach, La Liga stalwart Joaquin Caparros taking over from Lucas Alcaraz over the summer.

And Algeria international Youssef El Arabi has been impressed with the Andalusian's work so far.

"He has surprised me because he likes to talk a lot with the players and that's important for me and the team, and I think we can have a very good season with him," said the forward.

"I like the coach's system because we play with two strikers and we can score more goals that way."
