Queen of South vs Livingston preview - Five missing for Livi

Queen of the South are again without five players when they face Livingston for a second time this season ahead of the teams meeting yet again in the Scottish League Cup on Tuesday.

A back injury keeps Chris Mitchell out, knee problems have sidelined Paul Burns and Mark Kerr, Michael Paton is missing due to hamstring problems and Stephen McKenna is absent after hip surgery.

Manager Jim McIntyre said: "We have made a good start with two wins and three wins would be great. However, we will not be getting carried away about anything.

"Livingston beat us in the Petrofac Training Cup and it would be nice to redress the balance."

Livi are missing four players as goalkeeper Kevin Walker and skipper Simon Mensing are out with knee injuries and Nejc Prepatonik and Rob Ogleby are ruled out with hamstring problems.

Gary Glen and Danny Mullen may also be absent as they sustained knocks as Hearts were seen off 4-1 in the Petrofac Training Cup on Tuesday night.

Manager John McGlynn said: "Hearts put out a young side but you can only play against what is put in front of you. It was a good performance from us and sets us up nicely for Queen of the South.

"A repeat of our 4-3 win there from July would be a good day's work."
