Birmingham vs Ipswich preview - Blues duo set to be fit

David Davis and Lee Novak are expected to shake off injuries for Birmingham's clash with Ipswich.

The duo came off in the second half of Saturday's 1-0 home win over Brighton with Davis nursing a rib injury and Novak a calf problem.

But they should be available for boss Lee Clark - who has dismissed links to Bolton's Rob Hall - as Blues search for back-to-back home wins following their first league victory at St Andrew's since October at the weekend.

Andrew Shinnie is a doubt after straining his back in the under-21s' game with QPR on Monday while Matt Green and Gavin Gunning (both knees) are long-term absentees.

Conor Sammon will be hoping to be involved from the start for Ipswich's trip to St Andrew's.

The striker, currently on-loan from Derby, came on as a second-half substitute during Saturday's defeat to Reading.

Defender Elliott Hewitt faces a late fitness check after suffering a slight groin problem on the weekend but is expected to train on Monday.

Jonathan Parr could make his first appearance since returning from his groin injury while Paul Anderson (hamstring) may also get the nod after completing 45 minutes against the Royals.
